I just joined about a week or two ago, and I’ve been reading and commenting on posts but hadn’t introduced myself. So here it goes ..
I had a relatively traumatic childhood, from which I developed anxiety both generalized and social, and borderline personality disorder. I’ve been going to therapist since I was about 10 years old and they have diagnosed me with everything from bipolar to adhd. I have taken a wide variety of medications most of which I probably didn’t even need. Up until about 2 years ago I was in and out of psych hospitals and really impulsive and making a lot of bad decisions. I felt very helpless and hopeless .. Then I was referred to a psychologist that helped start to guide me in the right direction. Unfortunately my insurance changed and I could not see this psychologist anymore, however it was a blessing in disguise. I am now working with a therapist that’s even more helpful then the last and I have made some great improvements. I still have a long way to go I have anxiety attacks daily sometimes multiple times a day, but I’m learning that I’m in control and I can get through them. Some days I feel like giving up and not trying anymore, but I know that if I keep working on myself I will eventually get where I want to be
