I've been dealing with severe depression for around 27 years. I've had several doctors, more than 3 therapists, and countless medications and adjustments. Things seem to be bottoming out at this point, options seem to be running out, so this group was suggested. I'm not great with sharing my feelings, as it can't really change life's circumstances, but I'll try.

Hi 5footsmall, so glad you reached out and decided to introduce yourself. Sorry to hear that you have been dealing with this depression for so long and that things are not going too well right now. I understand how frustrating it can be to keep trying different medication regimens and nothing seems to be working. I was diagnosed with bipolar disorder 32 years ago and I tried every medication and treatment imaginable before I was stabilized on my current regimen two years ago. I've learned that medications alone are not enough for stabilization. It requires cooperating with therapy, making lifestyle changes, and developing a relationship with God as well. Sharing your feelings may not change life's circumstances, but it may give you a better perspective on them and equip you with some tools to cope with them. I hope you keep on sharing your feelings here. I'm glad you're here.
