still restless
Hi purl1, Sometimes physical activity isn't enough. Remember that anxiety is a
mind/body disorder. We can be physically worn out but if our mind is going 100mph
we will continue to feel restless. This is a good time for you to take a little respite called
"me time". Find a quiet spot, maybe a favorite chair (try not to go to bed) a small blanket
across your lap, a hot cup of a relaxing decaf drink, lower the lighting and just breathe.
Close your eyes and start to visualize a place of peace and calm in your mind. A serene
place that maybe you saw a picture of on the forum.. start deep breathing, inhaling deeply
hold for a moment and exhale long and slowly. Walk through this beautiful garden of
multiple color flowers, blue skies, billowy clouds (you get the picture). It could be anywhere you want to be. Leave all your cares behind you. When a thought pops in
push it aside and breathe. By doing this every day for just 10 minutes, it can relax those
ruminating thoughts that keep us in an anxious state.
You tube has some great videos that you can tune out to (meditation) 1-2-3-5 and even 10 min. long. I wouldn't do anything longer than that at the beginning. Start slow and as you
see the results of a more peaceful mind/body connection, you will look forward to doing it
again and again. Good Luck. purl. Sending positive thoughts your way x x
Sometimes you are better off to take the meds just till thing start getting better. Anxiety is a mind a body thing. More mind. And it won't go away until you still few the mental puzzle. Identify the store and the change or accept.
