Having the opportunity to get a week long break from the toxic environment I reside in has done wonders for me on many levels & has been a real eye opener.
Living in an low income housing apartment complex in a city known for its awfulness while trying to maintain some level of normalcy for my children & myself has ended up being a 9 year nightmare (even though I’ve been grateful for an affordable place to call home).
Our living environments can make such a monumental & impactful difference in our abilities to cope with mental health issues.
If you’re surrounded by chaos & justified situations of feeling unsafe while struggling with major depression, an anxiety disorder, & PTSD, it can be challenging to focus on your healing while you’re in straight prolonged survival mode.
I’m so thankful for this eye-opening experience, for this new energy building, & for what’s to come. Change is finally coming.
