I’m taking medication. And I keep waking up at night with nausea. It’s the second night that I do this. Is it worth taking meds? Or should I fight this without it? I keep reading the side effects and withdrawals and it’s scary.

Med/side effects
Nausea sucks so bad.
I’m sorry you’re experiencing that.
I struggle with chronic nausea & have a prescription for as needed Zofran. It really helps.
But taking a pill to help tolerate another pill can be a slippery slope.
Maybe taking it with food &/or ginger could help?
Sometimes side effects subside after a couple weeks, but that’s never guaranteed.
Does your need for the medication out weigh the nausea?
Side effects & withdraws can be scary.
Use your intuition & do what feels right for you.
Good luck!
It’s my first time trying medication so I’m just waking up in the middle of the night with nausea. I think I’m more bothered with waking up at night with it. This is my first week trying it so idk if I should keep going or trying to just tackle depression head on like I did before.
I just want what’s better for me in the long run but it’s hard to tell if I can beat this depression again like I did months before. I guess I’m a little scared of the horror stories I heard regarding medication
I've had wonderful results with medication. Most of the side effects like nausea, dry mouth, and constipation go away after a couple of weeks. I think it is so worth your time for relief from depression.
I'm sure there are hundreds of thousands more people being helped by antidepressants than there are horror stories. When it works, you are too busy living your life again to tell horror stories, so we don't hear from those people on the internet.
I had nausea when I started my medication a month ago but that side effect has passed. If it goes on for another week I'd definitely tell your doctor - they may want to adjust your dose. As for 'to medicate or not medicate', I had reached a point where I had to try it. My anxiety had made life way to difficult. I'm a month in and starting to see benefits. I hope you have similar success with yours.
