Hi, I’m Mars. I have (high-functioning) anxiety and as of late 2018 going into 2019, it’s gotten much worse. It’s become really difficult to calm myself down during and after anxiety attacks without someone to talk me off that ledge. I give myself stress headaches and bite marks to try and hold back tears. My parents believe that if I had a support group to help and offer advice, my anxiety could be manageable. I really hope that’s the case.

New Here - Any Pointers?
I hope you are receiving medical treatment for your anxiety. If not, see your doctor soon to get started.
I’m not actually receiving any medical treatment. My parents believe that if I had a support group I won’t need medication or a therapist
I recommend that you make an appointment with your regular doctor, and describe your situation. Have him/her explain to your parents that therapy and/or medication will be necessary to help you get better. If you parents won't listen to you, they should take this more seriously if they hear it from a doctor.
If you need to talk about anything... I’m listening. Prayers to you hun.
I would recommend looking into mindfulness! It helps a lot. Do some research on it
