Panic Attacks and General Anxiety

I am 34 years old ...Suffering from Panic attacks and General Anxiety ..well thats what i think i have or what the docs have told me .. I have a history i had a viral myocardidits about 17 years back .. All is good .. just some old changes in the ecg .. but overall no problems ... in exercise or in anything .. 6 years back i had my first episode of panic attack .. was at home and then i started to notice the increase heart beats them came sweating .. increase breathing .. and upset stomach .. i was taken to the hosp where they took my ecg and even said at that time that its nothing just a panic attack and that i should relax and gave some sleeping pills .. after that i came to know in detail about my medical history .. and all that .. but i never had any problems .. but after that first panic attack .. i keep on having them ..and i am always afraid that i am going to have them again .. i have never taken any medication till now or have consulted any psyctrist .. but now the problems are increasing .. i have episode of panic attack .. after that now i have physical symptoms like chest pain .. and body pains .. pain in the back .. acidity .. and my thoughts keep on repeating .. and they are getting the best of me .. what should i do ..

I've been suffering from an increase in anxiety recently and have been switching my medications to try and find the right one but so far I have been feeling worse. Don't be afraid to start taking something. SSRI's take awhile to start working but maybe the dr can give you a benzo like xanax to help in the meantime. I try and not take benzos that much but at times lately I have felt so bad that I have too.
