Why is letting go so hard?

It's the fear of being on our own. But its better to be alone than going through torment, also the lonely feelings pass with time.

It means we have to let go of our dreams and hopes. This one got me.

Or at least the ones you had created with the other person. Now you get to create new ones but it can be frightening.

Sorry I didn’t mean it to sound harsh. I’m going through something similar and feeling very down and scared.
