just be loving and patient and kind to yourself.... it took us a lifetime to become who we are today....it's going to take time to get to know what effects our issues have on us, why and what we would like to do differently if we want that change. Take what you need and leave the rest.

I’ve found the site to be helpful with my anxiety. If you don’t mind me asking, what types of “issues” are causing you distress?

Don’t mind at all. I have always had a varying degree of anxiety since about 13-14 years old but it wasn’t really known as anxiety it was more like “oh you don’t want to do something” so I was raised to believe that’s what it was. To overcome it I decided to put myself to the test and joined the Army at 18. I spent 15 years in, I was just discharged recently. It may not have been the best thing bc I am now suffering from severe PTSD which I’ve been working with a VA therapist and my own.

Welcome to the site & thank you very much for your 15 years of service ! My sister in law is now serving her 2nd tour in Afghanistan, she flys the black hawk helicopters. I find comfort in knowing that I am not alone, that their are others out there that are struggling with the same issues as I am. Everyone on here seems to be very understanding & compassionate. There is so much good advice on here on how to deal with anxiety & depression. Take care & I hope you have a good day !
