If we were in person I would ask you to pull my finger. After that your blood pressure would be the least of your worries 😉

What was your blood pressure in the ER?

Espinoza38 profile image
Espinoza38 in reply to

It was 136/80 when I got their. Then when I left 138/90

in reply toEspinoza38

Okay, did the ER state there was any concern with that? I’m not in the medical field but I don’t think those numbers are bad from what I understand.

Have you drank any caffeine or ate foods high in sodium?

I actually drank 2 mocha frappes today. One in the morning then another at 3:30pm. After that I got the panic attack

in reply toEspinoza38

Caffeine can cause panic like symptoms and if you are prone to get panic attacks then it can snowball down from there. I avoid caffeine for that reason. Maybe that is why your blood pressure was elevated?

But would it still be high even after getting out of the ER

in reply toEspinoza38

I am not an expert but everyone reacts to caffeine differently. Blood pressure even goes up after you eat. So it could be normal for you. If it was anything serious you would know by now. Heart attacks that kill you seldom give any warning. You literally fall down dead. Try to relax and allow the body to come down from the caffeine high.

Thank you and yes I'm trying to calm myself down. The xanax I took helped me alot.

Hi Espinoza, you will be okay. Make sure you hydrate because usually in the ER they don't allow you to have any water until all tests come back. Having a banana

can help reduce the blood pressure as well.

Before you go to bed, make sure all electronics are turned off so your mind and

body can calm down. Lie in bed and feel your body sink into the mattress. You are

safe, you are at home. Take a slow deep breathe and exhale long and slow. Stay in the present moment. Leave the day behind you. Relaxxx Relaxxx You are doing fine. Everything is going to be okay. Breathe x We are right here if you need us. x

Goodnight dear friend. Sleep well. x

It also can be because you are worried there's something wrong. You have to try to ease your mind that the doctor wouldn't sent you home if they didn't believe you are fine. Trust me I know it's hard... I have horrible health anxiety. Drink some water or decaf tea... breathing excerises help calm yourself down & center you. Hope you are feeling a bit better 💛

Thank you I'm a try and drink my teas

I cut caffeine because of my anxiety too. The decaf tea is a bit more expensive but I think it helps me. I think it should be cheaper. Caffeine is no good and just causing all kinds of brain disorders for people.

I shouldn't of drank that much caffeine. Now I know. But I remember back then I lived on caffeine and now I can only have 1 a month.

I know girl. I’m not a coffee person but I use to drink the regular tea bags everyday which contains caffeine. Since I came off it. I feel better. Not that I don’t get it once In a while but it’s not as bad. It’s such a helpless feeling.

That’s a pretty normal blood pressure reading. It might be higher than your norm but if you’re a little anxious and stressed about it then it’ll be higher. Also make sure you sit down for a couple minutes and relax before you take it and take it with your feet flat on the floor.

Thank you for the advice. Because when I took it I was sitting crosslegged on the floor lol.
