Any ladies out there suffer from pmdd? When were you diagnosed? What were you prescribed to help? Have you seen improvements? What were your symptoms like?

I am not diagnosed with it. It is something that I am researching because I have cyclic anxiety. For two or three weeks I will be good and then around the time I’m pmsing my anxiety comes back and sometimes it’s hard to function. I brought it up to my gynecologist and he said that the only thing to treat pmdd is with birth control.

How old are u? Because so people go through premenopausal early so u need him to check your hormone level and being low in vitamins can cause a lot of problems too

Idid get my hormones checked last year. they found that my DHEAS hormone was higher than what it was supposed to be. I did start taking vitamins recently and have felt a little better. I have a dr appt tomorrow.

I have pmdd and I'm being treated with a low dose SSRI. Birth control can help some people but my Dr wouldn't recomend it as the kind I would be able to take is more likely to make my symptoms worse

My doctor prescribed zoloft for me. Is this what you are on?

I was on 50mg of sertraline a day but have just changed to 20mg fluoxetine. Not sure if either have different names, that's just what it says on the box

How was the sertraline for you?

I started on it just 14 days of the month starting 10 days before my period but it was making my anxiety hellish. So they switched me to every day and it was too much, I just shut down. Stopped caring about life and just wanted to sleep.

That's why I've been swapped to fluoxetine.

Oh ok well I hope that the fluoxetine is working for you. Maybe 50mg was too much to start with.

Not what you're looking for?
