I hope that you are under medical treatment for your gastroparesis. And I also hope you are receiving treatment for anxiety and depression. We are here to help you in any way we can.

Mcrowley89, The symptoms of gastroparesis are similar to the symptoms of stress and anxiety. It has been said that the stomach is the part of the body most sympathetic to anxiety.

You were suffering from anxiety and depression some time before you were diagnosed with gastroparesis.

All I'm saying is to maybe keep an open mind about gastroparesis.

I understand it is fully treatable and you are right to do exactly what your doctors tell you to do.

The link between stress as a cause of gastroparesis or gastroparesis being a symptom of stress has not been proved conclusively. But maybe if your mental health issues improved and you had less stress and worry in your life it would ease your gastroparesis. I'm no doctor any more than you are but we are allowed to ask questions like that.

I don't know if you're on medications or are being helped by a thrapist. But if you could regain your quiet mind it might help with your stomach problem.

I hope you find respite from your anxiety and depression and relief from your gastroparesis. They say that all troubles pass in time and that time is the great healer. Do not think this is the beginning of the end for you. Someone gave you your miracle girls to take care of and that Person knows your girls need you.

So I say again, do everything your doctors tell you. Learn everything you can about gastroparesis but do so looking for positive information to reassure you rather than negatives. And address your anxiety issues with renewed vigour and determination to bring respite and even recovery.
