That's good! Is it your regular doctor, or a psychiatrist? If it's your regular doctor, you can get all this cleared up and your nightmare will end!

You have gone through enough in your life already. Don't torture yourself any longer over this. You've done exactly what you should do - you're letting your doc evaluate you. Tamka! I often skip nights or wake up for long hours. I think that the worse to do, is to use electronics then. They kill your brain with artificial light. Tell your doctor that you get really stressed sometimes and that affects your sleep. Ask for sleeping pill that you can use just in case. Be mindful about using it as aid and not falling into addiction. You can do it! We are here with you!!

First of all, donot worry about your condition..there are thousands of people with conditions even worst than yours... From tomorrow onwards, try to visit a holy place like church, masjid, Gurudwara, and spend some time there. Identify the activities you are good at, or hobbies, do a few daily, and eat healthy food...follow the pattern for a few days and see if it works..if not you should see a good doctor...for anxiety and depression treatment at home, you can also try CBT . I'm suffering from anxiety and currently doing the CBT therapy.
