Has anyone with a generalized anxiety disorder ever managed to successfully replace an SSRI with exercise and talk therapy?

Replacing an SSRI with exercise?
No, although exercise and talk therapy enabled me to be on a considerably lower dosage! What have you got to lose as long as you listen to your Doctor’s plan... very important! Good luck!!
Im worried about a friend.
She hasnt seen a shrink in 2 years and her meds may not be working like they use to.
She also doesnt exercise at all.
If you cannot convince her to get medical help ( maybe offer to take her).... then just be her friend. Check up on her as often as you possibly can. Maybe suggest she come for a “walk” with you! ( evening shopping in a mall can be great exercise)! Disguise exercise in a fun way!? She’s lucky to have a friend in you!
Thank you.....it doesnt help that shes my x or that I tried to tell her I dont think the SSRIS are working and even if they are theyre damaging her quality of life badly.
I want to help her.
So great that you want to help her!! Sounds like you will succeed.... caring is a great place to start!! ( could u suggest this to my X??? ) lol 🤣
I sent her a text of an animal she likes holding a sign saying I'm sorry.
Pray that she is willing to respond and that we find a way to be more communicative.
My findings are based on science but when I try to express them she seem to feel like I was just full of crap.
ps... I think it DOES help that you’re her X. You most likely know her well and can maybe, figure out what motivates her! But how does that affect you?? You have to take care of yourself first, please!!
Im making sure I eat, exercise, and work like a boss.
What SSRI are you on? Are you on it for anxiety solely because SSRIs deal with serotonin therefore this is a category of medication that is used for depression. But yes, exercise is extremely important to help with a lot of different mental health factors. Please get back to me so I can help asses the situation more accurately.
