Hello everyone, I hope you are all having a good day! This photo comes from a few days ago in eastern TN. I like how the leaves are different colors- some green, while others are varying shades of yellow to red. I also like how the sun casts its rays down between the trees and into the open field in the back. There are many famous quotes about light casting darkness away. One of my favorites is “Keep your face to the sun and you will never see the shadows” by Helen Keller. I try to remind myself of this when I feel the darkness coming.
So, on this trying day, I am turning my face to the sun. I find my light in nature, photography, and painting. Other light sources include my husband and dog, helping those in need, and baking banana muffins.
May your light shine bright, today <3

I found my light in you, awesome lady. You have stood strong by me and that means the world to me. Is there something I can help you with? I wanted you to know that is a gorgeous picture. Wish I had a copy of it. Love fall pics. 500 kazillion hugs just for being my friend!!
I just realized I never responded, I'm sorry! Thank you, you gave helped me as well. I love the range of color, especially during fall. I like looking back at warm pictures like this, especially on tough days. I can't explain it, but it helps.
Thank you, mrsmandy. I have seen a lot of sadness and pain on here that I wish I could take away. When I'm in that frame of mind, there are quotes I think back to. This is one of them and I am so happy to share it with you! I hope you have a great day
Thank you! I find it uplifting as well, and I am really glad to have a safe place like HU to pass along uplifting photos/stories/quotes. Enjoy your day, Catwoman!
Hi Agora, I hope this morning finds you well 😊 I am honestly very thankful to be able to freely share in a safe place. I'm happy that you like it and I hope you have a peaceful day.
I love this as well. You are not alone in looking for your light in photography and the arts. I wish I could share my daughter's images! I am going to share your post with her though as she will love this and struggles with depression and anxiety disorder too.
That's a beautiful picture. I'm terrible at all the arts, painting music poetry etc but I still appreciate them. I'm sorry your having a difficult time but it sounds like you have a great husband. BTW...can I have a banana muffin?
Good morning, aaron! I hope you are doing well today 😊 Thank you. Yes, my husband is my rock. I am beyond blessed to have him in my life. He may not understand what I am going through, but his support never wavers. Lol, I would love to give you a banana muffin!! Banana, banana nut, or banana chip? 😂
I mentioned my daughter but I see that you mentioned Helen Keller. There are many famous people who have stuggled in this world but she is one who seemed to be able to overcome so many obstacles and still have a positive outlook on the world. A very hard thing to do if you know her story. I was very active in the Deaf and hearing impaired communities as a American Sign Language student and then Interpret. Sort of how I got my first insight into Disability Studies. My Mom was hearing impaired. With a disease that causes progressive hearing loss.
Hi Glenora, thank you for sharing with me. Yes, I agree. There have been many famous people that struggled. I am inspired by her story- the strength she displayed, her perseverance, and the boundaries she burst through. About 6 years ago I visited with a friend for about 3 months. She was taking an ASL course and the class would meet at local restaurants. Members of the deaf and hearing impaired communities were present, even the restaurant employees were involved. It was an enlightening experience and I picked up on a few things. I am really happy that you enjoyed my post and want to share it with your daughter. I hope you have a great day 😊
