Agitated and I’m not sure why

I have been so agitated with everything recently. I talk to people I generally enjoy and I find them beyond annoying and I’m not sure why. My manager is nagging at me more than usual and she’s been driving me to the point where I don’t even like work anymore. I addressed my GM and she pretty much told me that I was in the wrong. And now these feelings of anger and confusion as to what I did wrong won’t go away.

Work used to be an escape for my anxiety and depression and now I don’t even want to go in fear that I’ll get yelled at. Does anyone have any advice on how to handle my negative thoughts? Or this work situation?

Hi,

Do you think your anxiety levels have been higher lately? That could explain the agitation and being easily annoyed. A month ago you mentioned higher anxiety levels, depression level worse, beginning counseling, and even feeling better. You seem to have had a variety of emotions over the last month and now you say you're quitting one-on-one counseling for group counseling.

I think you should try the group counseling but not be afraid to return to the one-on-one counseling but with a different person. Your other counselor doesn't sound like the right fit for you. It's possible for you to benefit greatly from both kinds of counseling because the one-on-one should bring you affirmation and personal direction in what you're feeling and doing to help yourself and group counseling may not provide much of that. I don't mean to go to both at the same time, unless you have the time and it is affordable.

You have an increase of 50mg to 100 mg Zoloft: it's possible that dose is causing you more anxiety though it's usually a helpful drug to feel less anxiety. But each of us has bodies that react differently to each drug we take, so sit quietly with yourself for a minute or two to determine how the increase has affected you. Are you taking anything just for the anxiety? You might need it.

Your anger is getting out of control too often, what will you do? By looking at your anger and anxiety levels you should be able to determine if the Zoloft increase has helped or harmed and let your doctor know if you think a change is needed. Take care....Blessings...

I’m not an angry person and I have never had anger issues. Anger is not the right word. Yeah I am doing really well In my life but the more counseling I go to the more aware of my depression and my anxiety I am. I guess I’m at the point where my depression is a lot worse then I thought it was now that I’m aware of how I’m acting. I’m just at a breaking point. I’ve got too much on my plate and I need to take care of myself. It’s time to focus on me and school and less on work. I’ll get through it. Always do.

I apologize if I offended you using the word "angry". I used it because you did, not trying to offend. Of course you know what you're feeling far better than I do.

Not what you're looking for?
