Panic from buying house

Hey everyone,

I’m supposed to be closing on a house on Tuesday and at 4:50 Friday afternoon I got a notice that my insurance wasn’t correct! I’m freaking out and panicking since there’s nothing I can do until Monday and I only have that one day to fix everything! This whole house buying process has really tried me. I’ve always had social anxiety but I have developed depression this past month. It just feels like everything goes wrong and I just panic that I’m not gonna get the house and never buy a house and on and on...

I just feel really sad and panicked.

Anyone in your situation would react the same way. It’s part of the human condition. Don’t get discouraged. Monday will come and things will get cleared up. These things happen at closings all the time. You have plenty of time to get this squared away.

I had to go on anti-depressants for the first time while buying my house. I was so stressed I couldn't sleep at all, for weeks. Every other day the deal was on or off because of various problems, even down to the closing day itself. Hang in there. Try to relax if you can. It will be over soon either way. I will be rooting for it to go well for you!

Talk to your realtor ASAP. Also, call your insurance agent. They are usually 'open' 24/7. They have a vested interest in the house closing. You aren't the first this has happened to, you won't be the last. Leave it in their hands. If it can be done, they'll do it. If not, closing can be put off until all is OK, maybe a day or two. Relax, and anticipate loving your new home.
