Making eye contact!

Do any of you have trouble staying focused (meaning making eye contact) with people you are conversing?

I look right into people's eyes even though I have terrible social anxiety. I keep fighting for me. How about you, are you okay? Love, peace, light, joy & hugs!

i feel my eyes have their own power. Gets distracted. I feel awkward at times. Luckily i work from home most of them time. But if I have to go to work. I also have a ptosis condition. I wonder if my eyes are trained to focus at an angle.

I have the same condition in my left eye. You have to do what makes you comfortable, don't worry what others think, everyone has an opinion, to each his own. love, peace, light, joy & hugs!

some people I don't want to make eye contact with.... because I don't trust them....others I do trust or want to see if I can trust them.... I do look into their eyes... I am one of those who believes the eyes are the windows of our soul....and it is amazing, the things you see.

Yes I definitely have trouble making eye contact. My family and freinds at this point I beleive are just used to me not looking at them when talking. I only notice it when I'm talking to people outside my support system. A great example is from a job interview I had yesterday. I had to constantly tell myself "keep looking them in the eyes...keep looking". Anytime I stopped saying that to myself I would catch my eyes (and my thoughts) wandering.

I think (at least for me personally) my eyes wander due to me having little confidence in myself and never feeling comfortable in my own skin. I know there are numerous reasons and conditions that can contribute to bad eye contact but at least for a depressed guy like me, I beleive it stems from deep rooted self-esteem issues.

I have just realised. I do this!. Even on my wedding day doing my speech, i barely looked up. I scratch my head in nervousness when i speak. I never make eyeye contact. Just made me realise. Must be an anxious thing i guess 👍
