Anyone know what is the best antidepressant for anxiety attacks?

i have been taking prozac for a while and it helps regulate my mood but for anxiety i take atarax. it makes me drowsy but it also helps me keep calm

I see. I have taken Prozac also, it worked okay. The benzos are what really help with attacks but those seem to be frowned upon... I was hoping there was a better antidepressant I could be taking to relieve those anxiety symptoms

have you tried lithium? i heard that its actually way more effective than prozac

Wellbutrin works great .. also no weight gain.

I started that a few weeks ago, no results yet though. But no side effects

Correct no side effects, it takes 4 -6 weeks to kick in. Stay with it I think you’ll be glad you did.

I've had to change several times, finally my doctor prescribed a med called Mirtazapine. Still feel anxious though, but so much better. Before the Mirtazapine I was barely eating. So good luck

Thank you, I need the good luck lol! I will continue with the wellbutrin and hopefully it will work for me. If not I will definitely need a back up plan.
