Yes!! You probably clench your jaw like I do without realizing it and may grind your teeth at night. It can cause bad headaches too!! I have them.

Thank you for responding

I am sorry ur experiencing them to

I tend to think something is seriously wrong with me cuz my jaw hurts really bad and then I get horrible headaches I’m going to look into ways to help me relax it

Me too. You can buy mouth pieces to wear at night to help you not clench so much. Or y’all to a dentist. They can custom make them.

I have the same problem. when I'm clenching I try to relax a bit. some days it hurts less then others. I get headaches to sometimes. I have tmj from an accident where I hit the dashboard of the car really hard and I haven't really gotten it taken care of.

I've read this but haven't really tried it yet.....

Train yourself not to clench or grind your teeth. If you notice that you clench or grind during the day, position the tip of your tongue between your teeth. This practice trains your jaw muscles to relax. Relax your jaw muscles at night by holding a warm washcloth against your cheek in front of your earlobe.Jan 24, 2017

the tongue between the teeth seems to work though.

hope this helps you and you jaw doesn't hurt as much.

hugs.

im.sorry. it is not enjoyable one bit. does your jaw click while chewing?

in reply toMichael8072

Yes. Sometimes. If I forget and yawn too wide it pops loudly!!

Have you tried progressive muscle relaxation? I hope you find relief. I grind my teeth and used to wake up with a sore jaw. I remember one time I couldn’t open my mouth all the way. My family was happy because I couldn’t talk as much lol

No what is that? Today is better if doesn’t hurt like it did yesterday now I just feel really lightheaded 😞

in reply toStephanie89

It is a relaxation method where you tense muscle groups one at a time hold for 3-4 seconds and release. It allows the muscles to relax and for you to become aware of when you are tensing up so you can relax and not get physical pain.

Yes I do it and sometimes I wonder if the meds make it worse. I did find that amitriptyline 25mg works great for the migraines. I take it at night
