Any advice or side effects? I need to start it but I’m so anxious abt taking it. I know I’m being silly but my anxiety takes over sometime

It's not silly to wonder or worry about side effects of meds.

I take 10mg off lexapro. When I first took it I had teeth clenching for about a week but it went away. It makes me a little thirsty and a little tired but that is about it regarding side effects.

Thank you. Yeah I get so anxious taking new meds. I want it to help but I get so reserved when it comes to taking medication

You might not even feel the side effects that I had with the med. Even with the side effects (which are minimal) it is worth it.

Thank you I really appreciate it. I really like this app I’ve felt so alone until now

Everyone is different, so there's not really a way to know if you have side effects until you start. Lexapro is a great fit for me, though. My anxiety was worse for the first couple weeks (that's a side effect of all meds for me), but after that 2-3 week mark, I felt more like myself than I have in years. My doc prescribed a very low dose of xanax to help me deal with the first couple weeks, but after that I didn't need it at all. Lexapro helped me feel more like ME, and got rid of the numb feeling depression left me with. It's worth a try! But like all meds, it requires some patience.

Thank you I wanna feel better and be better just anxious abt taking new medicine. The pharmacist said it would make me dizzy and that’s a trigger of mine so I think that’s why I’m scared

Maybe start it on the weekend or days when you can be a little more low key, and where it's okay if you need to stay home.

That’s what I’m thinking. Do you take it at night or during the day my psychiatrist didn’t specify

Hi R67V you are not being silly at all about starting a new drug. We're all the same however sometimes we need to take that step out of our comfort zone and give things a chance. I did 4 years ago with Lexapro and it proved to be a good drug for me. No tiredness or other side effects short of dry mouth. (most meds give that anyway)

I hope you give it a try. Believe in it. I take mine at lunchtime with food rather than before bed. Has worked great. Good Luck We're here for you. There are plenty others on Lexapro as well. xx

Thank you that was a question I was wondering when I should take it. My psychiatrist didn’t specify so I wasn’t sure

It was started in the hospital for me and the nurses had said it works better at lunchtime with food. Keep it at that time all these years. My best. xx

Definitely not a silly question...I myself am also nervous starting a new medication so your not alone...I tried lexopro and really had no change or side effects...I personally have had so success with Zoloft (300mg) but I also take several other meds for bipolar so it's sometimes hard to know what is working or not..

I was on lexapro, one thing for me: i was taking it in the morning after breakfast...if i took it later, even afternoon, i would not sleep at night, was very energetic at night and could not sleep. So the best solution was for me to take it in the morning.
