It took me 6 months to get off of my prescription for klonapin. I am extremely anxious and miserable with out it. I feel nauseous a lot and have muscle spasms in my legs constantly. Has anyone else experienced this? What has helped?

Going of anxiety meds
I tried going off my lexapro, not once, but twice, and both times I had extreme anxiety, nausea, lightheadedness, loss of appetite, weight loss, crying, extreme health anxiety, long story short, my life was just miserable, ended up in the hospital for what the doctors said was anorexia but it wasn't, it was anxiety. I ended up having to go back on it and my symptoms aren't much better because I'm trying to keep my dose at a minimum. I don't know how to fix the symptoms except just wait them out. I can tell you, your not alone and I know exactly how you feel.. I hope you find relief soon and are able to do better than I have.
Give it some time, there will be some balance at some point. Hang in there. Yes I felt this after being on this medication for many years. I’ve been off it for many years also. It will get better, it just takes time for you chemistry to get balanced off the med.
Interesting. I read some where klonopin is sometimes prescribed for restless leg syndrome. Perhaps it is a withdrawal affect? I was on klonopin for a time. I took it as needed. I didn’t use it as much. Have you told your doctor about these symptoms?
I have not talked to my doctor about it yet because I thought it was just withdrawals but I've been off it for a couple of months.
