So my dummy self has convinced myself that I have high blood pressure. Every time I manage to check my blood pressure it's high. But I feel that way only when I'm about to check it or the thought of checking it. But I also feel anxious all the time. When I see my doctor I give him my readings for me 146/90 is high. But when I'm at the office he checks it and its 120/77. What's the deal. I know I'm healthy I had labs ran not to long ago and everything was good my cholesterol level was good. What's wrong with me ya.

Anxiety or high blood pressure
I completely understand. I think about this daily and am afraid. My doctor said I have white coat syndrome. When I see or think about bp I make it high.
I have anxiety and it affects my blood pressure. I have noticed that thinks like salty food, booze and caffeine can raise my blood pressure as much as 10 points especially all three together. I lost a bunch of weight and I exercise regularly now. I avoid salt, booze and drink way less caffeine. So I think I have it under control but, for awhile there it should spike in the middle of the day and it was very uncomfortable. I think I used to drink too much coffee. Like a pot a day. Which is way to much. I am on a little Norvasc but, I might go off that because I don’t feel the bp anymore since the new routine. Good luck Blood pressure is a tricky thing. For me lowering all the factors, weight loss with some exercise has done wonders.

My anxiety affects my blood pressure like no other. I went to see my doctor today, at his office when I first got there it was 165/112, when I felt more relaxed and less anxious he checked it again. It was down to 130/70!! Crazy!
I think there is nothing wrong with your bp, but rather your anxiety is shooting it up.
