I wake up between 2-4 am most nights no matter my activity level the day before. I don’t like to take much medicine. When I remember to I take Tylenol pm but I don’t want to take it every night. Suggestions? I need better sleep. Frustrated.

Hello Insomnia!!
I suffer too! I did just sleep 5 continuous hours and I’m absolutely thrilled! Taking the Tylenol PM won’t hurt you as the active ingredient is Benadryl. Not addictive! I wish I had some valuable advice, but it’s hit or miss with me...I can relate! Sweet dreams!! 😴
Benadryl works okay in my opinion but it's not good to depend on medication to sleep :). Are you doing okay there, friend?
I agree. Doing ok. Thank you for asking I’m sad I’m not more disciplined with my schedule. My daughter begins school next week. She’s doing great. Her schedule impacts mine. I’m grateful I can spend time and be available to her as needed but it’ll help me care for myself better to have school in full swing. I need to exercise more regularly. Sometimes we go together but not as consistently since her activities are varied. The days are irregular. This is the most challenging part of homemaking to me...healthy scheduling that includes self care. I’m feeling overly responsible for family. I’m sure that contributes to insomnia.
That's a normal feeling to have, friend :). It surely is hard to take care of both yourself and your daughter but as far as I can tell, you are doing a great job with your daughter! All you have to do now once school starts again is to be there for yourself too. Best of luck, I hope you get some sleeping in or a nap sometime today. Feel better soon xoxo.
Enjoy your day after 5 hours! That’s great for you. Thanks for the tip and for connecting.
I have had the same problem off and on for 30+ years and know how frustrating it is. You wake up in the middle of the night not a bit tired. Sometimes I do get close to falling back asleep and then feel terrible the rest of the day once it's time to get up. My sleep doctor has me taking ambien but it doesnt always help with that unfortunately especially when the depression is worse. I wish I had a good suggestion for you since u have the same problem. Uggh.
I took Tylenol PM tonight. I hope to not be back here for several hours 😴
