Night seems to the the toughest and darkest times for my daughter. Any suggestions on how to help her during these hours before bed time?

She may need to feel safe, if you can you or your wife lay down with her and just get her to relax and be calm. Lots of hugs and cuddles for relaxation. Chamomile tea, white noise or relaxing ocean wave noise. Reading a book. Start getting her to relax an hour before bed, dim lights in the house and being calm.
