Severe anxiety and fear

So, I had a very severe case of anxiety and fear this weekend. I practically broke down and cried my heart out. Basically, I moved to a new country and a new job three months ago. Since I stepped in to work, I feel consistently anxious with great highs and lows throughout the day. Small things like going to the grocery store freak me out and I am extremely low on energy. I am so scared that I will splinter into pieces and collapse at work. It takes all I have to keep it together. Is there anyone out there who has or is going through the same thing?

I think for anyone moving to another country, and starting a new job would be very stressful, so for someone with anxiety...it's very understandable.....what have you done in the past to manage your anxiety?

I'm sorry your going through this....but remember it's not your fault...it's a chemical thing...and you can't cure it...but you don't have to let it define you either. You can manage it and learn coping skills for those blue days. I take SSRI's now, and they help. I also had many years of therapy that helped. You may want to read how others with depression have managed it and learned to live with it.

Thanks so much. I am going to take a short leave of absence from work mid August and planning to see a doctor for some mild medication which I hope will help. Am so sorry that people have to go through this. Its very hard, especially when away from all support structures

best wishes to you , and don't despair...your doing your best which is a good start by seeing your doctor for help.

I know the feeling , it feels like suffocation . First got mine at Wal-Mart .every day anxiety , doctors , pills , I'm very excitable whether nervous about health or being a child excited about Christmas. One thing helps sometimes is a walkman listen to the music of my teens . It's the Damn weakness of our minds .my doctor says I'm fiscally healthy . It's the Damn mind .
