I've had a good couple days. Keeping busy with work so less thinking. Tonite I'm starting to get that depressed feeling back. It's crazy how you see something and then you flashback to a past thing and your whole demeanour changes. I've got that sad lonely feeling right now. I hope everyone is having a good evening!

Hi Michael
Yes, it feels so disappointing and feels awful when you’ve felt ok for a few days or a while and something seems to trigger it and you go low again...
Well yes, sleep is so important to us, if I don’t get my sleep makes me feel worse. So fingers crossed your sleep isn’t affected by it.
We know it passes too, it’s just when...hopefully will pass quickly and like you say tomorrow is a new day and you will feel better, I do hope so. I’ve been low for a couple of weeeks off and on , and tearful...
I'm sorry your feeling that way. Yes. I hope we both feel better soon!
I don't really sleep well regularly. Trying to mix things up a bit and not eat pizza before bed and trying to not drink my tea past like 7. Maybe that will help me sleep better. It's a work in progress! as well as talking here and sharing what I'm feeling. I bottle up my feelings and I've done it for so long. I think it finally got to a point that it started to really effect me.
But on a happy note sharing whats going on here and talking to people has helped me feel not so alone and I'm not the only one feeling depressed or very anxious. Talking to my therapist once a month will help as well. I've been reading a book on depression anxiety anger as well. So I think I'm doing positive things to improve how I'm feeling.
I know it's gonna take a lot of time and I'll have set backs. But we all gotta stay strong and continue forward.
Sounds like you are doing things to help, which is great! Mention your lack of sleep to your therapist, if you have not done so. Lack of sleep seems to exaggerate our mental illnesses, it really makes me feel worse.
I’m glad you are seeking out help and addressing things, you deserve to feel better !
How wonderful, Michael that you had a good couple of days. I know what you mean by reminiscing about days gone by. You get that pang of sadness. I get tortured every time I see an Instagram of my best friend.
I try and do funny ways to cope when I get that way to get my mind out of a funk. I put standup comedians on YouTube to distract me. It's funny. Or I'll look up a celebrity I admire. I figure it doesn't hurt to have a crush on an actor . I get the feeling of admiring someone without getting hurt or involved.
Feel free to express yourself here. Bottling up makes it fester inside. It sounds like you are making good habits and choices. Keep it up.its ok to have past . MemoriesJust keep it detached so it doesn't ruin your day. Find a distraction to snap you out, whether it be cute animal videos or things you are interested in.
Take care. It's good to hear that you are on a healthy path.
Thank you for your kind words! That happens to me to on facebook. I try to hit that unfriend button but sometimes it's so hard for me to let go of the past like that. I want to so bad though. So maybe those reminders I won't have and I'll just have to deal with the sports reminders!
Idk why i have such a hard time letting go of the past like that. I'm hoping it's because I never really shared these feeling with anyone and not that I've started to maybe that will make it easier for me to kind of move past it and move forward.
Do you have some comedians you like to watch? I like Bert kerscher(I may have spelled his last name wrong) he has some good videos on youtube. I like to watch some clips of the tv show whose line is it anyway and also watch the office. That show always makes me laugh!
I'm gonna continue to share. Being here has definitely helped. And knowing what you shared helped me to share. So I wanted to thank you for that. It made it a little easier for me to share what I've kept inside for a year in half. It was painful. Still is. But I'm glad you helped bring that out of me.
You take care as well. Anytime you need to vent something ill always listen! You have a good night!
Hi, Michael! It's great to make a new friend! I'm glad that opening up helped me and you. We don't need to suffer for caring about someone.
I checked out your Bert Kreisher guy. Funny Funny. Oh, I like similar comedians like Bill Burr, Louis CK,some old school comedians like David Spade , Dana Carvey and Norm MacDonald.
Right now I'm in a Theo Von phase. He doesn't have a lot of standup on YouTube but whatever he posts cracks me up. He has an interesting way of speaking. he also has a podcast. The Office is great.Have a great weekend! Glad you are here
You're certainly right we do not have to. I'm glad you checked out that comedian. His skit on running with the mob and sky diving had me laughing. Those are some good comedians! I'll check out Theo von phase tonite! Thank you! Hope you have a good sunday!
Good morning. Actually his name is just Theo Von. He is friends with Bert Kreisher. I would check out the recorded stuff like 30lb Hamster Bones clips.
HI, Michael. It's been a pretty a low key weekend. Doing the basics like making a nice breakfast for myself. I'm taking it easy. I took a year off to recover from a stressful job. But, now I got to go back to the workforce. I'm not looking forward to it. I'm still working out GAD, so it makes things difficult.
I was thinking you might like this app if you have apple store . It's called cosleep sleep like a baby. It has all these great ambient noises to have in the background.
Also, There is this device you can get on Amazon called Dodow and it's a light projector that you follow the blue light to breathe. It's suppose to have a visual to follow to slow your breathing down. Read the reviews. I hope you will be able to get some sleep. Have a great week.
Low key weekends sound great! A nice morning breakfast sounds great as well. What have you been having?
I couldn't imagine going through that. Has taken the year off helped a little? I hope you can find a way to deal with the work stress to make it easier for you to work. And things start to get better.
Thanks I'll definitely look into both of those things.
Thanks. I'm usually off Monday and Wednesday but I have work those days and only off Thursday. But the begining of the week shouldn't be to bad. I hope you have a great week to.
- I would read the reviews for the Dodow to see if it's a gadget that would work for you. Another gadget is a weighted blanket. I would totally buy one if I had extra money. These are just some non med suggestions for insomnia.
