Give me a peace of mind? I’m worrying myself to DEATH.

I was just wondering (as I know everyone is different) does anyone ever overthink about a certain illness and you start experiencing those symptoms of said illness? Like your anxiety is mimicking them because you’re constantly overthinking about it? I can share what’s going on if needed as an example. I have limited friends and they don’t have anxiety so I feel like I can’t go to them with this and my mom is only available sometimes to talk. So this would be very reassuring to me for anyone’s help! Thank you so much if you do help. I appreciate it.

I think psychosomatic illnesses are a real issue. I don’t have any problem with it, but I think doctors are very familiar with it.

I am so scared that something is going on with me physically and I hate it. I worry and worry so badly my anxiety takes over and everything is worse. Everything starts hurting, I don’t eat, I just feel like I’m going to die :( having no friends is a real bummer because I have no one to talk to

I post a lot about perception becoming reality. The subjective feelings, that you are having, are mostly irrational and they need to be disputed. These lingering thoughts are serving you in some way. I would look for what is really bothering me, and work to fix that.

I suffer from depression but I have had anxiety (from situations). When I had anxiety, it definitely fed on itself. I was worried about worrying. I couldn't eat or sleep.

If you are not eating, can you at least drink a protein shake? You still need nutrition and calories for your body.

Im trying to change my life around so that I’m not like this anymore but it’s so hard when all you do is CONSTANTLY think the worst and can’t stop.

I actually forced myself to eat because I knew I needed to. I just wasn’t hungry.

Are you seeing a therapist or taking medication?

I have an appointment for therapy next Friday so that’s step one then she’ll refer me to someone for medication!

You mentioned that you are making changes in your life which is the best way to approach the anxiety. The medication will help in those tougher episodes. Good luck in your appointment. It sound like you are taking positive steps.

Thank you so much. I’m trying to change my life so that when I’m older this doesn’t effect anything and doesn’t cause long term problems.

My heart goes out to you. Loneliness causes a lot of suffering. You’re not alone and I said a prayer for you. The book Letting Go may help a little with your health fears because it talks about how the brain/ emotions can cause physical illness/ how to combat it. I remind myself depression is causing my faulty thinking; I have to change my brain- it helps me to focus on a problem and not blame myself for who I am. Big hugs to you.

When you start to worry about yourself physically, just start to focus on the positive things about yourself. I went through a stage where I gained a lot of weight and became very unhealthy. I started working out (Cardio is an anxiety KILLER) and eating right and I felt so much better about myself and also I was healthier. Get a checkup from a doctor, this will ensure yourself that you are fine and if something is wrong then the doc is there to fix it. Find proof to show yourself and your mind that you are overthinking and that everything is just fine.

I know just what you are saying. My daughter is a mental health theripist , but I hate to worry her with my stuff. I have two really good friends in the neighborhood , but have found that ever since I shared this with them, I found my depression and anxiety got worse. Keep on talking to your mom ! Hugs and understanding.
