Panic
I can relate I have felt that way the past few days. I try to understand that something might be on my mind. I am taking a vacation and I am overthinking the things that can happen. I have been having dizziness, heartburn and shortness of breathe. Also i start to feel hot/cold at times. This just started yesterday and I am leaving tomorrow. The reason I am sharing this to you. Try and understand and ACCEPT the sensations and they get less intrusive. You will have anxiety and it will continue to part of your life but try and understand the source of the thoughts and accept it. Try not to overthink the anxiety. Do you take meds for anxiety ? if so take them if they are for as needed. I have been increasing my dosage the last few days and it does help. In the end, it will pass and you will feel better. Try breathing exercises and distractions. You are not alone.
I take 10mg of Buspirone 3x a day
Ok, I want to try breathing exercises. You need to breathe in for 5 seconds and breathe out. Do this for atleast 2 mins. Feel the increase of air to the lungs. Dont over think it do it and rest. Then do this again every 30 mins to a hour. I find I start to take short breaths when I am anxious and this causes some of my symptoms.
guynfl2chat, Enjoy that well deserved vacation and put aside the "what ifs". This is your "me time". These sensations are not harmful, they are not physically caused but come from our over stimulated brain playing it's game with us.
The breathing exercises as well as a different scenery should help you relax and live in the moment. We'll be here if you need some support but I have a feeling you are going to be okay. Have fun, laugh, breathe and enjoy life.
Thank you. I usually do ok ,but i worry about my social anxiety and the lack of control of my surroundings when i travel. I find ways to cope, but somedays i feel pretty bad.
