Just lately Ive been watching my thoughts, now and then a bit of depression or anxiety starts to creep in. But I started to realise I can catch the thought of i feel down depressions on the way, and by knowing this thought is the begining of a bad day if i let it go unchecked, seems to stop the reactions that used to follow it. Like being down all day, or worse if the thoughts carry on unchecked. The same helps in controling my anxiety. So watch your thoughts, by just observing them helps to control them. In my experience. Bit of good advice there. It isn't of course always possible to do this and I found this only worked when I was 3/4 of the way thro my recovery. It does work tho!
That seems like great insight on your part and very great coping mech! Catching the feeling early and being strong, determined, aware of your feelings to keep it in check! That’s awesome and I’m very happy to read something like this! I’m reading a book negative thoughts and trying to stop, slow get rid of self defeating behaviors that fill my depression. It talks exactly about being aware of this! Good timing to find your post and see someone in action! I wish you continued forward progress in this struggle with more and more good days for you!! M
