Anxiety, I laugh in your face!

Anxiety, I laugh in your face because you are an imposter. You make us think we have cancer when it's nothing of the sort. You make us think we have heart failure when our hearts are good and strong. You make us think we are about to die when we've decades of good life ahead. And when those doctors tell us that all is well, you sow seeds of doubt in our minds.

Anxiety, for all your bluff and bluster and the bad feelings you give to me and my friends you are really a Big Nothing. You cannot kill us, you cannot cripple us and you can't send us crazy. I have nothing but contempt for you and your bullying ways, I laugh in your face.

I think of all the good times, good jobs, good relationships that you have soured with your mean and spiteful ways. But you have a weak spot, your Achilles heel, and I know your secret.

I know how to destroy you and as time passes more and more of my friends here come to know it too. All we have to do is stop fighting you - and show our contempt for your tricks by accepting all the bad feelings you direct against us with less and less fear as each day goes by. Fear is food and drink to you, it provides you with the sustenance you need to attack us. When we deny you fear you soon weaken and die.

Anxiety, you are really a Nothing. You don't show up on x-rays and scans; even with the most powerful microscope in the world you are nowhere to be seen. Why then should we fear a Nothing?

Anxiety, you are a Nothing and a Nobody and I laugh in your face.

(Repeated here from time to time for new members).

Thank you for posting this. Im in a bit of a health anxiety rumination spiral due to an unforeseen outcome at our Drs appointment Mon. Both husband and myself diagnosed with bradycardia or low heart rate. Mine was 37 beats per min, his was 44. My Dr freaked out and wanted me to go to the hospital ER immediately. But we received advice from a cardiologist after she reviewed our EKGs and insurance pushed our referral so that we will both be seen this coming Tuesday.

I'm trying not to focus on my heart rate but of course the more you tell yourself not to do something the worse the compulsion becomes. so today I'm feeling chest pains and of course thinking about a heart attack. Or having my heart rate fall too low at night and I die in my sleep.

It's probably nothing...but🥺😫

The addition of a pacemaker, a simple and effective procedure, will ensure your beats per minute never fall below 60. I have one and don't know its there.

That is the recognising process ,then it can be controlled easier.Happy for you to reaching that point where you can just stop reacting to your anxiety symptoms.

I really like this Jeff. It makes me feel more in control of my anxiety. It is not a physical entity. It exists only in my mind.

genius, that was very cleverly and exceptionally written. also very true. thank you for continuing to share it, I checked and sure enough there it is in your archive, a treasure trove of posts, all of which are worthy of reposting.
