Silly aside: in college I came across the first name of a woman named Siobhan. I was trying to figure out what region her family came from-Middle East?-and how her name was pronounced. See-oh-buh-hahn? Turned out it's Irish and is pronounced Shih-vahn. It shows how I might unknowingly be misperceiving something. She seemed to be a happy, accomplished young woman.
