Anxiety/Tension Headaches

I had one panic attack caused by excessive stress more than 30 years ago. It left me with a constant tension headache which changes in degree of pain based on how much stress/anxiety i am dealing on a daily basis. No medication helped me when it first happened. I had no clue on what happened. I slowly investigated the symptoms and through some self help books i managed the stress, anxiety and tension headaches for more than 30 years. It has been an up and down rollercoaster with only a breake in my tension headaches for a short period.

Now that i am retired i decided to get psychological and psychiatry help. I am taking some medications which helped me to some degree with my anxiety but the tension headaches are still with me in different intensity.

Presently i do yoga, meditation, exercise and keep myself busy and distracted from stress causing triggers. I am still reading books on anxiety and panick attacks to find a final solution to my long time issue.

The Doctor tells me that part of my anxiety is associated with my personality. Hope to implement some changes in my coping skills with stress to alleviate my anxiety and headaches.

I hope you find peace, I suffer from cluster migraines and they just come out of the blue, and then I'm okay for a while. It is very debilitating to not feel well, sorry you had such a long time with this...

I used to get chronic headaches and/or migraines. I see you do yoga, meditation, and exercise. I do too, but I've found most of my help from qigong (similar to tai chi). Since I've been doing qigong every day, I've reduced my headaches a lot. I'm so amazed! There are some good qigong videos you can follow on YouTube.

Thanks. I will try your suggested qigong. At this point i will try anything that helps.
