Anxiety symptoms & period

Ladies, I'm wondering if I'm not alone.

The past week my anxiety and symptoms have been semi-tolerable and I woke up with my period this morning. I am so extremely lightheaded, dizzy, anxious, and exhausted. My eyes feel so heavy. Not sure if this is because of my period or my anxiety, but regardless I feel 100x worse than normal.

Do you think this is a cause for concern, or am I not alone??

I definitely also experience this. It totally sucks, but there is, at least for me, a little comfort in knowing that these exacerbated symptoms will only last the duration of your period. Hope this helps- you are not alone

Wow I woke up with my period too and have been worrying like crazy but usually things get better for me after my period starts, well not today. Hope you feel better soon. Sounds like your body is telling you to rest.

I had this conversation with my boyfriend last night. I know for a fact that my anxiety is influenced by hormonal fluctuations. However, being aware of this has offered me an opportunity to prepare for this. It still is nearly debilitating but knowing the cause doesn’t cause additional anxiety like not knowing would. Exercise has helped significantly and I get adjusted by a chiropractor 3 days a week. I’m starting to see a complete physical and mental change. Could be due to the adjustments clearing the communication path from the brain to the rest of the body or just a placebo effect. I don’t know but it’s working and I like it.

That's really awesome I'm glad you've found things to that are beginning to help you. I went to a chiropractor a few times and like you said, I felt some improvement. Wasn't sure if it was my body or a placebo effect in my mind but I had to stop going because I simply can't afford it right now. Keep it up though, that's wonderful x

I do feel my anxiety a lot worse during my period. Like I'm connected to an electrical outlet. So I think it is anxiety related. Hope it gets better.
