I been having anxiety a few years now and I just want it to be gone. I have anxiety slot while driving. When I first got anxiety, I stopped driving for like a year. I do puzzles, color or talk to people but I just wanna go back to being normal. Please help

Anxiety should be my middle name since I get it so often, almost every day. My doctor has trained me to try to use medications as a last resort. He has me doing deep breathing exercises and if those don't work, then it's on to real meditation. There is a great website out there called calm.com and they have some wonderful guided meditations on depression and anxiety. If none of this works and the anxiety is still there then its on to the Ativan. He has me doing that so I don't develop a tolerance for the Ativan and it looses its effect. Many times I find I don't need the meds and can get by on just the breathing exercises or the meditations. Hope this maybe gives you some ideas on how to deal with the anxiety.
Thanks so much I'm gonna try the other website as well. I don't like meds. I have a fear of medication. I know it's all in my head but it's so hard to get over it. I started a new job and I have to drive a lil ways. Driving is horrible for me. Thanks for the ways to help it.
Anxiety is a really tough thing to deal with it. school has caused me lots of anxiety along with my home life but i recommend trying something called mindful meditation. it is where you focus on one thing and look at all the different properties of it like touch, smell, color, the tempature, the sound it makes, honestly anything you can think about it and just think about that one thing. anxiety is sooooo hard sometimes when we feel we just can't manage it. You do sound like you are trying though with puzzles and stuff to keep your mind busy. Have you a therapist, and do they prescribe meds to help.
Try Zoloft and Trazadone. Works well for me
