Extreme Anxiety Wave

The past four days I've experienced a much higher rate of extreme anxiety, to the point in which sleeping is difficult, being up and walking around is intimidating and school is nearly impossible. I have splitting headaches, shaking, nausea, the feeling I'm being watched and random involuntary movements, like my arm twitching or my head twitching violently to my shoulder, or giant shivers that can make me collapse- its becoming impossible to live normally and I don't know what I'm going to do. I'm on 10mg of Lexapro but it has had no effect whatsoever on my anxiety other than making the full blown panic attacks less often but the daily stress is getting progressively worse. I see a therapist and a psychologist but they haven't been able to help me. I need to stay at home away from other people in the dark to feel even close to normal. I'm even becoming stressed in closer relationships, feeling too much like a burden to everyone in my life. I don't know what's happening but it needs to stop, I can't deal with this ongoing and steadily worsening condition.

Panic attacks can be really unpleasant. And the trouble is that if you dont deal with them suitably. Then they are a problem that can grow. People may avoid doing things for fear it will provoke another attack and they may stop going out_leading to another problem agoraphobia, a fear of being away from the security of home. Many people who have panic attacks dont recognise them as a panic attack and think they,re going to die. The first step to treating panic attacks is accepting that you have them and developing coping mechanisms for when they strike. You have to remember they cannot, kill you and that the symptoms, while horrible wont last long. Its worth learning a little message to your self you repeat I know its not nice,, I know what it is and i know im going to be ok. when its happening. Cognitive behavioural therapy cbt which aims to change how you react to every day events could help you. Medication can help. I would also learn mindfulness meditation, Relaxation methods, Self hypnosis but take care if you choose this you may chase after things, instead of learning to be at one with yourself. And finally its my old advice, go to u tube and listen to dr wayne dyer. and just listen, stick with it even if you find some things boring still listen and it will be worth it and will set you up for a fantastic life ahead. Hope this helps. Gerrard.
