I'm new
Hi Amych and Welcome to the Anxiety Forum. I had gone through severe anxiety as well as being Agoraphobic for 5 years where I never left my house. Today, I am once again able to drive and function like before. Anxiety will never control my life again. I have won. Just know that anxiety will always be a part of who we are but the way we react to it will be different. Accepting it as not harmful is the first big important step to take. Never giving up and never being fearful. Finding methods to counteract the symptoms through meditation and deep breathing can help immensely. It takes time, practice and belief in that you will reach your goal.
This forum is made up of men and women of all ages going through different stages of anxiety and depression. In sharing your personal journey with others, you will find that you are never alone and can find the support and understanding in how to go forward.
The forum is a safe place to come anytime day or night. Someone is always on to chat with. I'm looking forward to seeing you on the forum and getting to know you. My best, Agora1 x
Hi Griefsucks810, I'm sorry to hear about your agoraphobic tendencies in the last
4 years. I understand completely. Deciding to make changes if the first step forward
in obtaining a healthy and productive life.
Be patient with yourself. It's that first step that must be taken slowly, little at a
time in allowing your mind to get use to this new freedom and control.
We're here if you need help. There are many who have experienced that fear in
going out. xx
