Flemons_k since you have not been diagnosed with high blood pressure are you taking your own at home and are you using a wrist blood pressure monitor or an arm blood pressure monitor? I saw my GP on Friday (at the time I was using a wrist blood pressure monitor) and was told that the wrist blood pressure monitor does not take accurate readings. She suggested that I purchase the Omron 3 Series Upper Arm Blood Pressure Monitor which is more accurate (and reasonably priced). I ordered it on Amazon and is awaiting its arrival. Although I take medication (Lisinopril/HCTZ) my blood pressure tends to run high. After one week of monitoring GP will determine if my meds need to be increased. To make sure you are getting the proper reading you should schedule an appointment with Dr.

I have found that anxiety can play a role in hypertension. To really know if you have high blood pressure-- you would need to take your blood pressure over a period of time and see if your readings are above normal. Keep track of your readings and then see a doctor and discuss. If you continue to have high readings you may need bp medicine. That will be between you and your doctor. I have had panic attacks that have made my bp very high but luckily my doctor knows the cause and we ran many tests to just make sure. I hope this helps.

Anxiety is SO HARD to control NO JOKE. It's a daily ALL day battle. The only time I don't feel it is when I'm sleeping for which I take medication for. But the moment I wake up its ON. What helps is you have to constantly tell yourself everything's ok, I'll deal with whatever when it happens. Don't watch the news and talk to people who like to talk in the negative. My daughters boyfriend did that at dinner tonight and I immediately put him in his place. Good LUCK

Yes, I have this problem, WEnt to the Dr. and he told me it was my anxiety and said I showed no sign of hypertension in my ekg. I am using a machine called a desperate to control my breathing. Expensive, but worth it.

Where can I find that

You can find. It on Amazon. It helps you to regulate your breathing and calm you. I use it 2x a day, if possible. It was recommended by the Mayo Clinic. But, it is over $300. Perhaps you could get your doctor to write you a prescription so you could pick it up with your insurance help.
