Hi

I’m new here, I’ve got lots of things getting me down at the moment.

Has anyone taken supplements to help with Anxiety.

I’m thinking of taking St Johns Wort And 5 HTP.

Yes I have tried many different combos over the years I take quite a few but as of now I take Himalayan stress care it is a bunch of different herbs in one pill you take 4 a day, I have had some success with it I also take magnesium I like triple calm, turmeric and b12 and vitdmen d these all have good reviews for helping and if I stay on them I feel they do help.

Hi, I personally am taking prescription meds for anxiety, but Gaba is supposed to help. I don't take Gaba because of the other pills I take :) Also Vitamin D3 +K2 (it's a 2-in-1) that's supposed to help a little bit. I do take the Vit D3+K2. I would try Gaba first. :)

I take magnesium at night, it helps with feeling calmer, helps sleep and muscle aches for me and I notice the most difference with a food based brand called Mega foods. Their 'dream release' has magnesium (the Amazon reviews for it are fun to read) I will sub that for my magnesium sometimes. I had a noticeable increase in energy and mood from mega foods 'blood builder' (B vitamins, C and iron) , then switched to their B complex using blood builder intermittently. I take vitamin D and use a higher dose one at 5000 IU, check out the vitamin D counsel for recommendations on doses.

I forgot to mention possibly the most surprising thing that helped my anxiety was eliminating dairy- now before thinking 'I could never do that' hear me out- I noticed a change after 24 hours! No drinking milk, no cream in coffee, and no eating anything mostly dairy like yogurt, cheese and butter. It was terribly hard but the calm it gave me became motivation. Now I can eat a little yogurt cheese and butter- symptoms return with milk and cream. It's a different very unsettling anxiety that it gives me, so again it becomes motivation to avoid those things.

Thanks for all you input.

I’ve ordered St. John wort and 5HTP, I’m going to try it for a few months to try and reduce anxiety.

I took St. John’s wort for well over 20 years and found that it did help. Took it about 2 months before I noticed a change. Kava is another supplement that helps with anxiety and you can find it in tea form. If you are taking any prescription meds check for drug interactions and there are a few interactions when you combine some supplements
