Just woke up to being half awake/half asleep and a feeling of intense dread/doom/fear. I finally jolted awake out of it but the feelings were so awful. I get these feelings all through out the day randomly too and it's my main symptom along with tense muscles. Does anyone else have mainly psychological anxiety without the physical symptoms???
Anyone??: Just woke up to being half... - Anxiety and Depre...
Anyone??
Hi. I'm sorry you're going through this.
I get both sets of symptoms. The 'fear' in particular is soooooo INTENSE. It's actually torture. Plain and simple. No-where to run. No-where to hide.
Currently, I get it in the mornings. Every morning. When it happens, I stay in bed with my eyes closed and try to relax. Or I will distract myself and not pay any attention to it. After a bit, it goes away. I also used to get it at random times during the day ... for no reason.
I didn't know what it was, or why/how it happens. Didn't even know what it was called until recently.
I have had, and still do to some extent, every anxiety symptom known to man ... but THIS, THIS is the worst by far - next to panic attacks.
Thank you for posting. I hope that other folks chime in and share their experiences with this AWFUL symptom.
Best wishes 💜
Thank you for responding. It really is so awful and hard to explain. But you're understanding is very helpful. Wishing you all the best!
One question, would you get this feeling just like looking atleast doing random things? It like things that shouldn't scare me or cause a fear/doom reaction do :/
Yes, totally random like walking down the street and boom ... suddenly I need to run ... to hide from something but I don't know what exactly. It is an extremely intense and physically disabling sense of fear. I literally am frozen to the spot 😔
