Anyone else noticed that's it's the most kind hearted genuine people that mostly suffer depression and anxiety ? I understand depression doesn't discriminate, we're all different, but seems to me we're all so consciences of people's feelings, want others to be happy and are the first to reach out when at our worst ? Hats off to all of us!!!😘😘😘😘😘

It's because we have suffered through hard times that we have empathy and realize the weight of suffering in other's lives. If you haven't lived it, you're less likely to know.

πŸ˜† I knew someone would say that, lol , that's exactly right !!!! I think we all probably had care and compassion before our illness as well though, just a thought I had. I've always kind of been a bit of a pushover and door mat and don't speak my mind or stick up for myself, I put other people's feelings before mine always, possibly contributing to my anxiety and depression

One of my best friends is someone who didn't have care and compassion in his life for most of it, but he's started being kind to others with me being kind to him. It's a rare victory in a sad world. I wish you strength, Mumma_h, because I understand what it is to be a pushover and a doormat. Perhaps we can both learn to value ourselves better in time, and put that into practice.

I think I've gone to far with it though, constantly giving of myself to my friends ( money, place to stay, loan of my car..........)and just expecting to receive help back . Rarely take something for myself, because I feel like a horrible person if I do , or afraid to not help or I'll lose the precious few friends I have . X

Perhaps that is something to think about and request a professional opinion on. I wish you well, Mumma_h. If I didn't have to wake up early tomorrow I'd give a more thought out answer.
