Could I ask you all what coping methods you use for anxiety? I've tried so much but I need more options.

I've found some success in workbooks and books in general and I'd definitely be willing to try this one if you know the title

Someone deeply affected by anxiety needs medication. I became so disabled with anxiety that I got to where I couldn’t leave the house. I had been seeing a psychologist for 3 years and to be honest, he just didn’t get it ( the anxiety disease). It’s was at a local mental health clinic. Only after he left did I visit the MD who had worked at mental institutions. I was on xanax and it helped. He wanted me off that and gave me mellaril, an antipsychotic drug. It used to be called a major tranquilizer. He keep upping my dosage until I had no anxiety ( it took 800 mg for me) . Of course I was so drugged I didn’t feel like doing anything . Also put me on tofranil , an old antidepressant. I was having no panic or anxiety. I took that high dose for 1 year. My father got very ill and I had motivation to leave town. I drove 70 miles following the ambulance. I didn’t have a panic attack or anxiety. The drugs broke the cycle of anxiety . I started to recover and I realized I could go without panic attacks. I got off the mellari. I do take small amount of Xanax ocassionaly. A book called The Anxiety Disease is very good. Show it to a good compassionate doctor. It’ is a disease. You can get over this with the proper medication.

Lexapro is good. For emergencies try xanax or clonazepam. The benzodiazepines are addictive but if you are having an anxiety attack they kick in fast. Read the book The Anxiety Disease. You can get a copy from Amazon.
