So this is more of me throwing out a question to the general community about what hobbies you all have. I know it's hard to enjoy things for a lot of us, and many of us, myself included, have lost great deals of interest in things we once loved.
I'm hoping to bring some love and positivity to everyone tonight. If you have anything, even just one thing, that you still get some enjoyment out of, what is it? What do you enjoy about it?
This may sound weird and icky to many, but I enjoy insects. Mostly, moths. My profile pic is of a female I found this past summer, who laid eggs for me, and then I reared the offspring. This is my holy grail of hobbies. And whereas I struggled a lot to maintain interest this past summer, I kept going. And there were days I wasn't able to care for my young caterpillars like I should. I struggled with that guilt. But I am overwintering cocoons now and look forward to next May when I should have moths to release and I can begin the cycle again.
So please comment about anything you still enjoy doing. Tell me about it. I want to have hope that we can all come through this together, one small baby step at a time.

I love to read. I really enjoyed murder mysteries but haven’t been able to concentrate on them. So the last year I found I can escape in silly romances for a couple of hours at a time. I love to knit and make jewelry but haven’t been successful doing either in months. I’ve decided to give myself a break and stopped forcing myself to work on my hobbies. I know when I’m ready. I will enjoy doing them again.
I tried my hand at jewelry making, but wasn't able to spend money to buy good stuff. I had taken a jewelry making class at the local community college and it was certainly a fun experience.
Thank you so much for sharing your hobbies! I think giving yourself a break is good thing, rather than forcing it. That can make you feel much worse in the end. I am glad you still have things you love to do, and you will certainly enjoy them again.
Hi there, I love walking around my neighborhood in all seasons and sometimes when I am in the right mood I take pictures if anything catches my eye.
I really enjoy classical music, when it's performed live. This is my third season as a volunteer for the Symphony Orchestra in our town. So far I haven't missed a concert. I hope I don't jinx myself, Lol
I have found taking walks in nature to be so very relaxing and it fills me with beautiful, positive energy. Though I live in the Northeast so I tend to stay in in the winter months lol.
Wow, volunteering for the Symphony Orchestra sounds amazing! I'd love to hear it! Music is such a beautiful, wonderful thing that can evoke amazing ranges of emotion. What a beautiful hobby! I don't think you'll jinx yourself. You clearly enjoy it so I have every faith you'll keep it up!
Hi,
I love to write but have felt too disconnected to my feelings to be able to do it much justice, but thanks to this community I can feel that side slowly coming back to me again ☺
I enjoy listening to piano music and rock, and taking photos of beautiful scenes when I go out walking.
I'm glad this community is helping you as well, and I have no doubts you'll be able to get back into your writing soon. Give yourself some time and don't force it. It'll come.
Music is wonderful, no? Walks are not only good for our minds, but bodies too! I'm glad everyone is sharing the things they enjoy in life. It's uplifting.
