Hey all, Brian here! Well, here on the east coast Monday is less than 7 hours away! I thought I'd share one tip for helping to combat depression...….
If there's something you really enjoy, dive headlong into it!
I have so many interests and hobbies, it's not funny lol. When I find myself down and depressed, I pick a hobby and immerse myself in it. Yes, it's a distraction. But sometimes, taking your mind off of why you're depressed will actually increase your mood. It also can help to put things in perspective. Things are not always as bad as they seem! For me, listening to baseball, whether it's current or historic, is a real escape for me and I almost always feel better after I'm done listening. It can be the big leagues, or your local hometown team (if you live in the US, that is). But you can use any interest you have! If you like scrapbooking, go for it! If you like to get out into the woods to help you relax, hey I ain't stoppin' ya Sometimes, it's the little things that can take a crappy day and make it tolerable
Your friend,
Brian
PS. The graphic I posted are of two teams in Minor League Baseball - The Potomac Nationals (High A affiliate of Washington) and the Down East Wood Ducks (High A affiliate of the Texas Rangers) who play in the Carolina League. There are many Minor Leagues out there. If you like baseball, give it a try!
