Getting off medication

Has anyone successfully gotten off their meds? I still have anxiety and depression

The majority of people do get off their depression and/or anxiety meds as they do recover. If you haven't then maybe you stopped yours too soon? The general advice is to wait until you have felt better for at least 6 months before trying to stop them. x

In my personal experience for my anxiety and depression not yet, I am still on medication for both plus for other health conditions. that doesn't mean it is never possible because anything is possible. good luck!

I’ve stopped my meds (Xanax and Zoloft) cold turkey. That’s never recommended, but I felt like if I tried to ‘ween’ myself off, it wouldn’t work. I knew I had to quit taking them, though, bc they changed me. They made me so bold and emotionless that I didn’t care whose feelings I hurt or what I did wrong as long as it benefited me and my kids. Horrible. Glad to say that I’ve successfully quit taking them and now I’m back to my “maybe too caring” self. It’s better than not caring at all though. I don’t suggest going cold turkey unless u really feel u can do it. Remember, it also depends on how long and how often u took the meds. I was on mine for over 3 yrs, but didn’t necessarily take them everyday, so i think that’s y I was able to stop immediately. Good luck!

I'm still not feeling good. I've been like this for 5years.
