Survivor's Testimony

In a short period of time I have had to deal with a lot. My kids father isn't paying child support for our 3 children and I have the department of Revenue to thank for that. He is currently getting government assistance. Though we live in different parts of the city he doesn't want to help out in other ways. He wants to put it all on my shoulders and still come over for sex. Due to a mistake by Social Security my money is being decreased that is due to my disability and I can't do anything about it. They don't care if I have a toddler to take care of. My oldest son who is 20 years old now chocked his brother who is 15 and I had him sent to live with his father. My 15 year old exploded ond day due to his ODD after I asked him to go to the store for something I needed. DCF got involved and are doing nothing for us. DCF allowed my husband to take him and now DCF and my husband want to have him return home with no services to help the family. I am remaining strong through all of this despite me finding out I have heart disease and having surgery on my breast . Despite my weight going down to 101 or 103 due to the stress. I have decided to not give up despite everything I am dealing with. I decided not to allow my kids father to come over for sex. Even, if he doesn't want to pay for my kids he has to if they're understand his roof even for a short period. Though I haven't told him that. I have decided that actions my son displayed are not allowed in my home. I deserve to be safe in my home and so does my daughter. I have decided to get my daughter into a daycare for right now. I am working with another daycare closer to our home to see if DCF can get her in to a full-time slot. I have decided to look for employment. Also, I am thinking about volunteering and doing some job training programs. I am also getting help from an employment coach as well. In the meantime I am making changes so I can survive on the money that I am getting for now.

Wow, you sound like one strong lady! I really admire the way you are refusing to be a victim of this man or the system any more and are taking charge of your life. Good for you! You just keep going and to don't let anybody tell you that you can't do it, because that's just not true. Where there's a will, there's way. Let us know how things are going and don't look back - just keep walking straight ahead and every day will get better and better until you have the life you want.
