I have had anxiety for as long as I can remember. I am now 32 and continue to suffer. My anxiety is almost always centered around health and safety (of myself, children, and my husband). I worry about things that aren't happening, but could. I had two miscarriages this year which has sent me into a year long state of constant anxiety and panic. I am now terrified that I cannot protect my children and that I am constantly going to die. I started having stomach pain a few days ago and finally went to the Dr. today. Like usual, they didn't find anything so I'm stuck feeling like I'm making it up even though it feels real. (This is one of the hardest things about anxiety for me. I never know when something is physical or when it is my mind playing tricks on me) I have a list of several counselors that my Dr. gave me, but I start crying and can't bring myself to set up an appointment. I'm worried that it is not going to work and that I am going to be stuck feeling like I do my whole life. Does anyone have any advice for choosing a counselor, words of encouragement, or suggestions for breathing through these hard days? Thanks in advance!

Hi, something that might help you with your anxiety is writing.
Write what you feel, why you're feeling it, and how it's making you think.
This helped me so much to better understand what I was feeling with my anxiety and allowed me to move forward.

Hi Lynchm, you really need to make that call to a counsellor. I know fear can keep us stuck in place but as lo g as you put off the call you will continue to suffer. A good therapist along with medication can really change your life. Your fears are irrational and really hurting your quality of life. Please get help.
I know exactly how you feel ! I always think I am dying and I am so depressed ! I am here if you need to talk we can be depressed together lol
I totally understand. I have anxiety about my daughter and something happening to her. I would see a counselor as soon as possible. I see someone and I am on medication. I still have anxiety but it has helped tremendously. The therapist I go to has taught me breathing techniques and grounding techniques that really help when I am anxious. CBT worksheets help too.
