I'm new here :)

I've lived with anxiety and depression for as far back as I can remember. After writing my first sentence and looking back at my life I can honestly say in terms of anxiety and depression . . . been there, done that. Although I finally found the peace and calm I desperately sought, from time to time I find I the need support to continue to maintain it. I look forward to becoming a part of this community.

  • Welcome! You are now a part of this community! It's very large with people coming and going. You are probably able to help others due to your lengthy experience with depression and anxiety. Often people just need to know they aren't alone, or they really are experiencing anxiety or depression or both, or that you understand what they are saying. Because their friends and family don't understand them. Just as you and I know how anxiety and depression feel, other people like to know that we understand them when they feel these things, too. Especially because they can make you feel so isolated and alone. Do you know what I mean? Have you felt those things before? I'll bet you have...

  • Thank you so much for the warm welcome BonnieSue! Yes, I definitely have felt the isolation and loneliness in my life and realize the same to be true for most. How could it possibly be when there are so many people around, I used to ask myself. It was difficult for me to reach out to others for help and risk the stigma that comes along with anxiety, depression and the like. During my youth, there were no support groups to turn to for guidance. Thank goodness times have changed and community support is just a keyboard away :)

  • Yes!! Definitely times have changed for the better.
