Hi Sandie

I too live in the UK.The only difference is that in the US they have to pay for medical treatment so our replies would be different.

Sadly anxiety and it's sister depression are no respected of borders and they are suffered right across the world.

Welcome to the group and it's members all do what they can to support each other.

Gentle hugs

Hi there are lots here from the UK as this is an international site so welcome.

Do you know what is causing your anxiety? Have you been suffering from it for a long time or did it only start when you went into the home?

Are you getting any medical help with it?

No,very unsympathetic gp and I'm trying to change.I get attacks when I can't breathe and I've been told it's a panic attack but no help or investigations.I did have it in the past but worsened since I've been here. They don't try to understand.thanks for contacting me,it means a lot.

No one believes it's so real and I need help.my gp won't help and I'm going to change.Although the care home I'm in is very up to date the staff have no experience of anxiety, panic etc.the wages are poor and staff inexperienced and untrained.sorry to sound like I'm moaning but I feel lost.thanks for reading this if anyone can suggest.something that may help please contact me..sandie.

Hi you need to demand to see a doctor and get some treatment. Do you have any family or friends who will do this on your behalf. If you are being told they are panic attacks then ask for something for the anxiety.

If you think something else could be wrong and behind your inability to breathe you need to ask for tests in case it's something else like asthma etc.

How about the self help route then? Check out mindfulness, meditation, and online counselling courses.
