Hi,

I´m new here and I want to share my story and my recent symptoms so I can get some advice or tips from you people.

I´m 30 years old and since my mid twenties I´ve experiences some difficult and tragic events in my life. In 2010 my mom had cancer and has untill today a very fragile health due to quimos and radio therapy. In 2011 my dad died due to a medical malpractice. In 2012 I vas diagnoses with testicular cancer. In 2014 my girlfriend with which I shared 6 years of my life cheated on me so we decided to end our relationship. In 2015 I was a major nervous breakdown since I started to really face all thes tragedies at the same time. I was diagnosed with GAD and panick disorder. I was prescribed Ecsitalopram and pregabalin. I followed the treatment for almost 6 months but I decided to stop it because I felt better. In 2016 I started doing meditation, reading and doing excercise but one problem still remained from 2015: I couldn´t sleep well. I had insomnia and if I managed to finally fall asleep I waked with my heart rushing. This year, my sleep condition got worse and as a result of my bad nights I´m experiencing anxiety during the day again. I want to know if any of you had felt this night symptoms before and what are your recommendations. I went to my psychiatrist and he wants to prescribe me the same medication I took on 2015 again but I´m not sure if this would help...

First sorry to hear about your parents. Insomnia wow been my best friend since April 2012. Sleep really sets the tone for my day. My insomnia was messing up my life 2 hrs sleep was crazy! Then there was good days an bad. All to my GAD. I STARTED WORKING OUT WHICH HELP, LEANING MY NEW SLEEP PATTERN. An sleeping before 10:30pm if I don't I pass the point of no return. Insomnia been a part me sine 2012. Study an find what works for you, I went from 2 hrs to 5hrs. I don't like meds.

Hey.

I have a really crappy sleep pattern as well. I even went to buy a new bed. For the last three days i havent slept well. I tried this app called insight timer and there is always one guided meditation that puts me to sleep. Its called Mindfulness for Releasing Anxiety. You should try it amd see if that helps you to sleeep better.
